This monument is located across from Barrack X outside the walls of the former Dachau Concentration Camp. Note the border of flowers, barely visible behind the statue. Pictures of the camp when it was liberated show flowers planted in this area, and even a birdhouse on a short pole. According to a book by a survivor, there were azalea bushes planted at the Dachau Concentration Camp.
