This aerial view of Dachau Concentration Camp, from the Museum Guidebook, appears to have been taken while the camp was still in operation or during the period when it housed Displaced Persons, since it shows the barracks buildings still standing. The top of this picture represents North. Notice a long narrow building behind the U-shaped operations building. This building was connected to the building in front of it by a wall and was the "Bunker" or Prison Block. Prisoners were executed by firing squad in the courtyard between the two buildings. Prisoners would be marched to their execution to the accompaniment of the camp band, according to the Museum Guidebook.
