In the background you can see the Danube river; on the right is a round chapel dating back to 1250. ![]() ![]() St. Barbara's chapel, which dates back to the middle of the 13th century, stands on the hill above the Danube in Mauthausen. Note the gate to the right, which is shown in the photo below. ![]() Through the doorway, you can see the rooftops of the town of Mauthausen with the Danube river in the background. ![]() This monument to the war dead from Mauthausen stands next to the parish church.
